Following our skilled Kalahari trackers into the grasslands and thorn country is an education on its own — as the days roll by you'll become part of the most diverse and demanding ecosystem on earth and slowly learn of its complexity.
Shooting distances are longer than you'd experience in the savannah woodland or more heavily forested areas further to the north. Following your arrival and after settling in, a session at the range will determine whether your rifle is still shooting where you want it to. Typically, your shooting distances will be 150–200 metres.
The smaller predators include the fox, caracal, jackal and brown hyenas, with the larger predators — cheetah, an occasional leopard, and finally lions — heading the list. These may be encountered or glassed during a normal day's hunt and will certainly be part of your hunting day.

How to Book
- All South Africa hunts require a 7-day minimum safari
- Suggested period of hunt: 7–14 days
- 50% deposit of the daily rate required to confirm booking
- Payment by cheque, cash, credit/debit card and wire transfers accepted
- All other costs incurred during safari, together with trophy fees, payable on completion of hunt
- Deposits are non-refundable if the hunt is cancelled; can be applied to rebooking within one year
- Safari charges effective on first day of contracted period and end on agreed termination date
- No refunds for late arrivals or early departures
- Advanced bookings are advisable
Before You Arrive
- Clients should advise on species required and order of preference
- Certain species require CITES permits
- All animals taken or wounded will be charged for
- When renting a rifle, it remains the client’s responsibility to ensure it is sighted in and shooting correctly
- Hunting clients will be expected to sign an indemnity form before commencement of the hunt
- We recommend Global Rescue insurance for peace of mind
- Mankwe retains the right to use photos of the hunt for promotional use on website and brochures
